Professional Scuba Instruction is a group of independent scuba diving instructors that came together to start a dive education facility located in the Washington DC area. All of our instructors are certified by the largest and most respected training organization in the world, PADI. Most of our instructors also hold certifications from numerous other dive organizations like TDI and SDI just to name a few. Also, many of our instructors have medical training from agencies like the American Red Cross and others agencies. The phrase independent instructor in the diving circle means that we are not teaching for any one particular dive shop. It means that we teach for you, our client.
All of our instructors each have over thirteen years of diving experience. Not only having excellent diving records, our instructors also have many years of teaching experience as well.
Not being tied to one particular dive shop has many advantages for our students, the most important of which is that we focus only on education. We do offer gear sales, but this is to allow divers to get only the highest quality gear on the market. Gear sales is secondary to education! This philosophy allows us to spend more of our time teaching you so that you are better at what you are pursuing, your scuba diving adventure.
At PSI we offer only private and semi-private classes at less than what any dive shop in the area can offer a large group class at. Plus, our course structure has been shown to enhance student learning, which is why we do not run large group classes. Our courses are student-centered, not shop-centered.
As for obtaining gear, we have a full line of rental gear required to make certification dives for all levels of training. For purchasing your own required personal snorkeling gear or scuba gear, check out what we have to offer, we are more that sure we will have the best gear for your adventure. PSI is an authorized dealer for some gear manufactures and can order dive gear from these companies. By not stocking large amounts of gear, this allows our students to purchase the best gear for there diving needs at the best price. Our students get discounts at many other dive shops as well.
We are based out of the Washington DC area, but we do not just limit our diving to this area. We run many trips each year all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other parts of the world. You can do your certification dives anywhere in the world with one of our instructors on anyone of our trips, just ask your instructor for details.
