Advanced Open Water

The Advanced Open Water course is the next step after your Open Water Diver certification. This course is all about further developing your skills and increasing your confidence and comfort in the water. You will be introduced to new skills and underwater activities. There are no formal lectures or classroom sessions – just brief review sessions and dives!

You will complete five dives for the Advanced Open Water course. These dives will introduce you to underwater navigation, deep diving, and three more dives of your choosing. You can complete your Advanced Open Water course conveniently over a single weekend, or sign up for one of our trips and earn your Advanced Open Water certification on a diving getaway!

Depending on your interests, you can select your elective dives from any of the following: Altitude, AWARE Fish Identification, Boat, Deep, Digital Underwater Photography, Dive Propulsion Vehicle, Drift, Dry Suit, Enriched Air, Multilevel, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Underwater Photography, and Wreck.

At Professional Scuba Instruction, we have designed an Advanced Open Water course that we believe benefits our students the most for our local dive site. For the Advanced Open Water courses that we conduct in the local quarry, we strongly recommend Search and Recovery, Wreck, and Peak Performance Buoyancy or Dry Suit as your elective dives.
